I hold a very high opinion of Houston Community College. The professors in their arts programs are all actively employed in the fields they teach, and the whole program is geared towards both making the student professionally competent and connecting them with opportunities in their field. In addition, I could not praise their administration highly enough. They are EXTREMELY helpful and make everything from registration to financial aid both easy and simple. I’d lastly like to comment on the student body – there are a lot of students here who are also already actively working towards their professional and personal goals, making HCC a wonderful place to network and find collaborators.

I think it is a great place, and I haven’t seen anything I didn’t like. The classrooms are modern and perfect size. The professors are qualified and are always ready to help. The spaces outside of the classroom are also great, library and the areas of study. I am really happy about this school.

I love it! I was there for three years in a program called Upward Bound program for high schoolers that need help applying to colleges or scholarships or just help in general. Now, that I’m done with high school and I am a current student at HCC they still help me. They have great tutors, counselors, and teachers. I am proud of my school and the hours they give me to have my convenient schedule.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

This was a great place for me to start. However, i’ve had numerous issues. I couldn’t imagine being here for a full two years. First off, the financial aid office has misplaced a lot of my documents which has been an issue. My first semester of classes, my very first class, the professor didn’t show up. She did this twice in a row. This really irked me, because I had literally just started the semester. I have had about 3 teacher flops where the professor in my opinion was no good, and I wound up having to teach myself mostly everything. Then I also had two phenomenal teachers who I learned an extraordinary amount from. It seems like a coin flip for what you’re going to get. My issue with HCC is nothing is consistent. But if you’re just trying to start somewhere, I think they’re great. Knock out your prereqs and move on up to a big university.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Decent community college, Classes are reasonable (mostly), professors (if you get the right ones) are helpful and motivated, the teaching is very liberal and sometimes even leftest in its political origins (but does allow for some discussion on the topic), discrimination against students based on race, age, sex/gender, political or religious affiliation and opinion voiced or otherwise was little to none. I enjoyed my time there, and would recommend going, just don’t do the late start classes on heavy subjects.

The advisors on campus are awesome. Anytime I have a question on what classes to take next or need an opinion on short term planning, they give great insight and I never feel like I’m wasting my time or money. HCC has a lot of locations scattered all over Houston .

What is your overall opinion of this school?

For me Houston Community College is and advantage for me in order to get my associates in science so I can be able to begin and attend to a university with some credits in order to be able to work in the workforce of my career that I want to be. It’s a campus with many benefit such as places to study, learn from many people of different diversity in one single place, and have the use of computers in the library in order to finish my work of the class. It has a great atmosphere in order to work with other students. The classes are small and have not much people either, it’s better for students to pay attention.
Students have the advantage to talk to their teachers in order to talk about their grade and how they can manage their way of studying in order to pass the course. Teachers give syllabus of the class so that the student have an idea what are the concepts that the teacher has and what you need to know in order to pass that course. The office and the overall campouses of HCC has given the chance to the students to participate on the class and later on they can drop out. The campus also makes a student ready before they go the big step and continue their career in a university.
This college is public so that other people from other country can apply with it. Also some classes has encourage students to attend to clubs and for doing that they offer extra credit. They might not offer food but they do sure have events that they give free food, or food trucks that always come in order to sell delicious food.
This school has made my eyes open since I’m high school student, having the benefit to attend a college way before other high schoolers graduate apply. If you are still not in college and you are looking for one, I suggest this college because it benefits you in any way, and all the teachers, librarians, and staffs that are in the campus will make you welcome and help you in any difficulties.
